The Joe Hiller Longboard Classic finally took place as we had to ride out Hurricane Matthew and postpone for 2 weeks but we had The Joe and all who came out had a great time!! Thanks to SEALAND ADVENTURE SPORTS for being our big sponsor this year, glad you all are coming on with the ESA as well. The after party at Mex 1 was a blast and thanks to them for their continued support of the local surfing community. Thanks to CCPRC and the Isle of Palms County Park staff who welcome us with open arms and make this venue so inviting. Thanks to all who helped….hope to see you all very soon. Results are attached.
The 2016 Joe Hiller Longboard Classic has been rescheduled for Saturday Oct 22nd at the Isle of Palms Pier located in front of the IOP County Park. We plan on starting at 8am and we are trying to get all of the heats and finals wrapped up in a 1 day event. We are so happy to have Sealand Adventure Sports as our big sponsor for this great event. Mex 1 is also doing our after-party starting at 445pm at the new Mex 1 on Sullivan’s Island. We will have pizza, snacks and drinks for all competitors as well as a really cool limited edition long-sleeve t-shirt. Get your entry in early, DEADLINE is Thursday October 20th at 1pm. Entries may be dropped off at Sealand Adventure Sports, Parrot Surf Shop, Ocean Surf Shop, McKevlin’s Surf Shop. Divisions will be limited so don’t be left out…..Schedule will be posted Thursday evening on the website and our SSC Facebook page. Entry is attached below. This years ESATERNS Surfing Championships can be watched live at surfesa.org. The Easterns are set to run from September 18 -September 23 and will take place at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, NC. Team SSC has about 25 competitors vying for the championship in their respective division. GOOD LUCK TEAM SSC!!!! The schedule and heat draws will be posted to surfesa.org as well.
The 2016 SC Governor’s Cup of Surfing was a big success. We had decent waves all weekend and the turnout was great. Congrats to all the newly crowned State Champs!! Thanks to all of our sponsors, thanks to all who judged, all who helped out setting up and breaking down, Tanja and Bill for tabulating it all. Great to have so many NSC surfers come down and be a part of this year’s Governor’s Cup. I’m very proud to say that the SSC is very strong and moving in a very positive direction!! The beach vibe was electric….THANKS EVERYONE!!
